We were delighted to recently install an Adaptix VetSA3D veterinary imaging system at Andy The Vet & Friends, an independent small animal veterinary practice in Storrington, West Sussex.
Founded by veterinary surgeon Andy Mead, the practice has been created with a clear focus on providing high-quality, personal veterinary care, supported by modern diagnostic technology.
When equipping his new practice, Andy wanted a dental imaging solution that could deliver high-quality diagnostic images while helping to minimise the time patients spend under general anaesthetic.

Following the installation, Andy spoke to us about why he chose Adaptix VetSA3D and what he believes the technology will bring to his new practice.
Comprehensive dental imaging in as little as 30 seconds
Adaptix VetSA3D uses Digital Tomosynthesis (DT) to acquire a series of images from different angles, which are reconstructed to provide cross-sectional views through the area being examined.
This gives veterinary teams access to detailed 3D diagnostic information while using a compact imaging system designed for the veterinary practice environment.

Dental radiography can require multiple image acquisitions and patient positioning to examine different areas of the mouth. The Adaptix system is designed to streamline this workflow, with fewer imaging acquisitions required and less time needed for dental imaging procedures.
For a busy veterinary practice, this can make dental imaging more efficient while providing the clinical team with detailed information to support diagnosis and treatment planning.
More than veterinary dental imaging
Although dentistry was an important reason for choosing Adaptix, Andy also saw the potential for the system to be used more widely throughout the practice.
Adaptix VetSA3D isn't limited to dental imaging. Its 3D veterinary imaging capabilities can be used across a range of applications, including orthopaedics, extremities and exotic patients.
As Andy explains:
